Abstract

This article critically examines the relationship between immigration and crime rates in the United States. By analyzing statistical data and existing literature, the study challenges prevalent myths that associate immigration with increased crime. The findings reveal that immigrant populations often have lower crime rates compared to native-born citizens. The author discusses the implications of these findings for public policy and community relations, advocating for a more nuanced understanding of immigration's impact on crime and safety.
